Graduate in Cybernetics, Statistics and Economic Informatics at the Bucharest University of Economic Studies, Florin is part of the #FUNgineers team since 2010. He started his career as a software tester, made his next step as a software developer and now delivers sky-high results in the BI Architecture Department of one of the leading companies in the Banking Industry. With a strong passion for technology, he brings a great contribution to all the great results achieved by the company.
- What made you take the leap and start this journey 🚀?
The opportunity to work in a big company, one of the leaders in its field of activity. By this, I gain access to complex projects and various technologies that helped me acquire new skills and imagine new possibilities to develop my career.
- What was the moment you knew you’d made the right decision to work here 🏢?
Probably after a few weeks, I’ve proudly noticed that I’ve joined a professional environment with enthusiastic people who contribute to a great atmosphere that helps you pursue your dream. 9 years have passed from that moment and I am totally proud of my decision.
- What challenges or setbacks did you face along the way ⛰?
Sometimes you get very enthusiastic when you have a great idea and you would like to implement it right away, but, of course, you have to meet a set of procedures in order to ensure the best possible results. Generally speaking, people are reluctant to change, but if you help them see that things can improve you will be surprised by the positive change in attitude.
- What are you most proud of? What is your biggest accomplishment 🛴?
The current company reporting presentation portal was largely set up by me (configuration, personalization, guidelines). We are currently migrating to a new reporting tool and I’m also involved in all aspects regarding the development of this project. I’m proud that I have the chance to be involved in complex projects and always challenge myself in order to become one of the best.
- When Hobbies and Work Come Together 🏀
Music is one of my passions and I listen to a lot of music during working hours. Apparently, the high-results achieved so far are somehow linked to classic rock rhythms from Uriah Heep, Phoenix, Metallica, AC/DC and Rainbow. These bands have strongly influenced the rock music worldwide and we should replicate the winning recipe and adapt it in all projects that we engage in.
- Advice for candidates
If you’re willing to learn, there are a lot of opportunities in IT. Do something you like and the results will arrive faster than you imagine. You have to constantly have in mind your objective and enjoy the awesome results, but also be very proud of overcoming every challenge that you meet on your road to success.
